Retired 4th JDC Judge Robert T. Farr, 83, died Friday, March 3, 2006. He earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1943 and his LL.B. degree from LSU Law School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 - 1946 in the southwest Pacific area, the Philippine Islands and Japan. He was in the practice of law from 1949 - 1968, serving as law clerk at the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals from 1954-1955. He was appointed to the bench in 1968 where he served until his retirement in 1988. A member of the American Judicature Society and American, Louisiana State and Fourth Judicial District Bar Associations. He served on the House of Delegates and Board of Governors for the Louisiana State Bar Association and Secretary-Treasurer and on the Executive Committee of the Fourth Judicial District Bar Association. In 1999, the Louisiana State Bar Association honored him for his 50 years of membership.
