Former Baton Rouge City Court Judge Heyward J. Jeffers, Jr., 82, died Friday, July 1, 2005.  He was a former City Court judge and city prosecutor.  A veteran of World War II, he retired from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel. He was also a longtime criminal defense attorney.
