Former 12th JDC Judge Michael J. Johnson, 54, died Monday, November 4, 2002.    He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1970 and his juris doctor degree from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1975.  He became magistrate for Cottonport in 1979 and was appointed to sit as judge pro tempore  in 1990.   He was later elected to the 12th JDC bench, where he served from 1991-1997.
