LOUISIANA SUPREME COURT RULE XVII, ADMISSION TO THE BAR OF THE STATE OF LOUISIANA, PROPOSED CHANGES TO BAR EXAMINATION
The Louisiana Supreme Court is considering amendments to Supreme Court Rule XVII, Admission to the Bar of the State of Louisiana. The proposed changes to Rule XVII have been submitted to the court by the Committee on Bar Admissions and can be found by following the link labeled “Proposed Changes to Supreme Court Rule XVII” below. Proposed deletions to the Rule XVII are indicated in strikethrough and additions are shown in underlined text.
The proposed changes to Rule XVII are comprehensive and provide for a complete overhaul of the Louisiana Bar Examination. Therefore, two additional documents have been prepared and provided by the Committee on Bar Admissions to assist in explaining the proposed changes: (i) an “Executive Summary” dated December 8, 2010, and (ii) a PowerPoint presentation dated December 8, 2010, entitled “Louisiana Bar Examination: Proposals For Change.” Both documents may also be accessed by following the applicable links below.
